Wahoo Chamber of Commerce
Serving the Wahoo Area Business Community
since 1923
Mission Statement
The Wahoo Area Chamber of Commerce strives to promote a favorable business climate, to encourage and sponsor partnerships between businesses and other community organizations, and to provide leadership in the Wahoo Area.
What is the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce?
The Wahoo Chamber of Commerce is people...people who realize that the Chamber is the business community at work. It serves as the central agency for development of business, industry, professions, and all civic interests - performing tasks that no individual can do alone. The Chamber promotes events that can maximize your business potential and profitability.
- The Chamber of Commerce is first and foremost a membership organization, which is supported by member investors.
- The Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors, which is made up of individuals elected from the membership.
- The Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of businesses and individuals throughout Wahoo. We operate as a vehicle through which the businesses and professional people are organized to work together, voluntarily, to define and solve problems for the improvement of Wahoo as a place to live and work.
What can the Chamber do for me?
- Business Referrals: The Wahoo Chamber of Commerce receives numerous calls and correspondence daily requesting information pertaining to motels, restaurants, activities, tourism, realtors, rental landlords, and many inquiries on products and services in the area. We always refer to our Chamber members first!
- Business Contacts: The Chamber of Commerce provides programs and opportunities, such as Business After Hours and Quarterly General Membership meetings for you to network with business representatives who need or use your products and services.
- Internet Reference: Chamber members have a complete business listing on our website. We will place a link to your company's website on our website at no charge, and we can also list your job openings on the website.
- Legislative Action: The Chamber of Commerce can help keep you informed on key legislative issues affecting your business.
- Publicity & Exposure: Through newsletter promotion and sponsoring activities, you will gain direct exposure to an unlimited number of businesses and individuals in the Wahoo/Saunders County area. Our newsletter is printed monthly in the Wahoo newspaper.
- Creating Workforce: The Chamber of Commerce helped bring affordable housing to Wahoo creating a larger workforce for area business and industry.
- Business Retention & Recruitment: The Chamber is a key player in keeping our existing businesses in place. We also recruit new business and industry to Wahoo. If a potential business contacts us, we assist by directing them to the right sources.
- Investment in the Future of Wahoo: Now, more than ever, we must stand side-by-side to work together for the development of our area. Large and small businesses alike are working to control expenses and plan for future growth. By volunteering on Chamber committees and task forces, you will help plan and implement programs to improve the business climate and solve community problems. Only through continued stimulation and growth of the business community can we make progress.
