GIS Mapping will begin July 23rd

Flags and paint markings need to remain until August 10th

Starting July 23rd you may see flags or paint markings in your yard.  Do not be alarmed and please do not remove them!

The City of Wahoo has entered into a contract with GIS Workshop to do data collection to map GPS locations of all utility and storm sewer assets.  To assist with this data collection, it is necessary that City crews mark the underground locations of items like water curb stops, gas system valves, and other items. City crews will be out starting Monday, July 23rd locating these items and marking them with bright paint or a flag. On August 6th through August 10th GIS Workshop will be in town using their systems to collect these GPS locations.  This information will then be uploaded to a GIS webpage which is similar to the Saunders County GIS webpage.

We are asking for the public's assistance in completing this project.  Please do not remove flags or markings until after August 10th.  Items that will be marked will include water curb stops, water valves, and natural gas valves. The majority of these items should be located in the street right-of-way, but some may be located on private property.

If you have questions on this project, please contact City Hall at 402-443-3222.
