THE CITY OF WAHOO is accepting applications for full-time lineman position with our electric transmission and distribution system.
Workers in this position are responsible for performing various maintenance activities for the City’s electric transmission and distribution system. The City of Wahoo provides electric service to the community and adjacent areas, as well as the Village of Weston. This department has five (5) full-time employees including the positions listed here. The position requires after hours, on-call availability on a 24/7 rotating basis, and in emergencies must be able to report to the work site within a 15-minute response time in normal weather conditions. Work is primarily performed outdoors, and requires a considerable amount of physical activity. Must be able to operate hand and power tools, and heavy and light trucks and equipment pertaining to the construction, inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of the electric system. Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license and ability to obtain CDL. Must possess or obtain a CPR and pole top resuscitation certification within a time frame established by the employer.
* Graduates from Line school will qualify as 2nd Class Lineman.

Third Class Lineman/Apprentice current pay range is from $23.45 to $30.48 per hour.
Second Class Lineman current pay range is from $25.04 to $32.55 per hour.
Job classification and starting wage is dependent on qualifications and experience, and may be increased after six-month probation period. Smoke Free Environment.
