FARMLAND/HAY GROUND LEASES

The City of Wahoo, Wahoo Utilities, and the Wahoo Airport Authority will be holding a live auction for the rental of two parcels of farm ground and one parcel of grassland for baling. At 1:30 on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Wahoo Public Library Meeting Room (637 N. Maple), Wahoo, NE, information on restrictions and safety concerns associated with the parcels will be reviewed. Immediately following this information session, a live auction will be held for all parcels. Parcels will be rented independent of each other and will be under individual leases for each parcel. Leases will be auctioned in the order they are listed below. Please review the lease document for each parcel carefully as each has specific limitations, restrictions, and items the renter is expected to understand and comply with.
PARCEL 1: Approximately 147 acres of partially irrigated farmland for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 crop seasons. Property is located east of Wahoo along County Road K, and north of Sunrise North Cemetery (owned by the City of Wahoo Board of Public Works). Final approval of this lease will be done by the Board of Public Works at their March 20th, 2024 meeting.

PARCEL 2: Approximately 101 89 acres of dryland farmland for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 crop seasons. Property is located around the taxiways and runways at the Wahoo Airport. Tenant will be required to observe aeronautical safety concerns and plant material will need to be in accord with aeronautics operations (owned by the City of Wahoo Airport Authority). Final approval of this lease will be done by the Wahoo Airport Authority at their March 18th, 2024 meeting.

PARCEL 3: Approximately 9 acres of grass land located near the Wahoo Cemetery east of Wahoo (former landfill) for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 crop seasons. Tenant will be required to operate within the standards needed to protect the plant material and ultimately the cover of the former landfill site (owned by the City of Wahoo). Final approval of this lease will be done by the City of Wahoo at their March 12th Council meeting.
