WAHOO, NE – At a meeting of the City of Wahoo Board of Public Health today, Order No. 20-01 was adopted, effective immediately in the city limits of Wahoo, as an effort to prevent, limit or slow the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (hereinafter called “COVID-19”). In their action the Board of Public Health is prohibiting public gatherings within the city limits of Wahoo of more than 10 individuals between March 20, 2020 and April 30, 2020. Also included in this action is an order to requiring any bars or restaurants in the City of Wahoo to close their seating/dining areas and move to take-out, carry-out and delivery only between March 20, 2020 and April 30, 2020. The order is consistent with Governor Rickett’s Directive Health Mandate for Cass, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties announced on March 19, 2020 and does not apply to grocery stores, fuel stations, convenience stores, and others specifically listed in the order. The City of Wahoo Board of Public Health, comprised of the Mayor, the Chief of Police, the President of the Council, the City Administrator, and the City Physician wish to be proactive in the protection of the citizens of Wahoo. It is for these reasons this action was taken and is in effect immediately and will remain in effect until April 30, 2020.
