The City of Wahoo is seeking an energetic, visionary leader to serve as our next Library Director. This is a unique opportunity to steward one of our community's most valued resources, guiding programs, services, technology, collections, and spaces that inspire curiosity, foster connection, and enrich the lives of residents of all ages.
As Library Director, you'll do more than manage a library. You'll help shape a welcoming hub for lifelong learning, community engagement, and opportunity while leading a dedicated team committed to serving the people of Wahoo.

📖 What You'll Do
As Library Director, you'll lead and oversee:
- Daily operations of the Wahoo Public Library
- Supervision, training, scheduling, and development of library staff and volunteers
- Library budgeting, purchasing, and financial administration
- Collection development, acquisitions, cataloging, and resource management
- Technology services, digital resources, public computers, website content, and online services
- Community outreach, public programming, marketing, and public relations
- Strategic planning and Nebraska Library Commission accreditation requirements
- Library Board support, meeting preparation, and community collaboration
- Grant writing, grant administration, and fundraising support
- Development of programs that serve children, teens, adults, seniors, and families
✅ What We're Looking For
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, Communications, English, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Experience
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a public library or related setting
- At least two (2) years of supervisory or management experience preferred
- Experience with library technologies, digital resources, and standard office software
Certifications
- Nebraska Library Commission Public Librarian Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within three (3) years of employment
