EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR

The City of Wahoo is seeking a motivated, skilled, and experienced Emergency Medical Services Director to lead our EMS department. The ideal candidate must be a licensed paramedic with the State of Nebraska and have experience in management and command of EMS or Fire and rescue operations. The ideal candidate will oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a team-oriented culture that delivers exceptional emergency medical care to our communities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily EMS operations, including staff management and resource allocation.
- Direct the operations of the ambulance services.
- Manage budget and oversees expenditures to assure fiscal responsibility as well as approves payroll.
- Ensures proper patient care guidelines and correctly report care.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement protocols to enhance emergency response efficiency.
- Manage budgeting, purchasing, and financial planning for the EMS department.
- Foster strong relationships with community partners, hospitals, and public safety organizations.
- Lead the training, and professional development initiatives for EMS personnel.
Qualifications
- Must hold a paramedics license from the State of Nebraska .
- Proven work experience in management and command of EMS or fire and rescue operations.
- Strong ability to manage complex tasks and multitask simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the EMS field as an Advanced Life Support provider.
- Have or the ability to gain Incident Command certifications consistent with this position.
- BLS or EMS Instructor preferred or willing to obtain.
